I have just installed OpenDX and Exceed on a friend's WinNT machine, the
same versions that I have running happily on my Win98 machine, and I'm
having trouble getting the X client/server stuff working. The messages that
I get on starting DX (dx -edit) are:

Cannot open connect stream
TRANS (SocketINETGetAddr): tnamebysocket() failed
TRANS (SocketINETConnect): TRANS (SocketINETGetAddr) failed
TRANS (Open): transport open failed for 127.0.0.1:0
Error can't open display.

I'm not sure if this is a question for here or for the Exceed tech support.

I have followed the same steps that worked on my Win98 box. I can ping
localhost and localpc (both are 127.0.0.1). DISPLAY is set to 128.0.0.1:0.
I start Exceed manually. The only obvious difference between the NT machine
and mine is that he is running ZoneAlarm. This is configured to allow local
network access to Exceed, dxui, and dxexec.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Gib
