Hello,

A question on displaying surfaces:

Given a formula to describe an arbitrary 3D surface in spherical
coordinates, how would I create and display this surface. Furthemore, if I
want to map scalar data to that surface, how can this be done ?
If I missed a thread in the mailing list please point me to that.

Thanks a lot for your help

I just posted another reply with the DX Repository URL. Go there and locate the Tip on Generating a Quadric Surface. This is a sort of answer to your question, but not completely general. The trick here is to create a mesh and deform its positions as per the formula. This does not stitch the seam(s) though that can sometimes be done through other tricks. If you take the Quadric Surface macro apart, you can see how it's done in this case (the formulae are all for 3D surfaces as I remember).
