Randy,

We have OpenDX working on Compaq Tru64 Unix (4.0F) here.   The performance
is great on my XP1000 with a PowerStorm 350 Graphic Card.   

OpenGL is supplied by Compaq as part of their Open3D distribution,
which unfortunately is not free, but not too expensive either.
