color interpolation across the fairly large grid cells of your data is
causing the "skewed" effect you are referring to. You can reduce that by
using Refine to reduce the size of the grid cells before coloring.

Subject: [opendx-users] Color shading of 2D data on regular grid, again

Hi! All!

I want to make a color shaded plot of a 2D data defined on a regular grid.
The data has a symmetry plane which is parallel to y-axis.
If I plot isosurfaces (contour lines), they show the correct symmetry.
However, if I use color shading, the resulting image does not have the
symmetry and looks rather distorted.

I wonder if any of you can help me with this problem.
Thank you.
