Increasing the amount of memory for exec use by

I am running on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop, Windows 2000, and 512 MB
RAM. Each of the data file contains about 419,000 (x, y, z,
intensity) points. Sorry, but I am not sure what you meant by how I
ran OpenDX - I ran DX by double-clicking on the DX Editor icon (I
know, typical user response). The version of DX is Open Visualization
Data Explorer, Version 4.1.3 and I have Exceed 7.1 (I did uninstall
"Non Exceed 7.0 Extras" as suggested).
The image update response time is very variable. At times, it updates
almost in real time and at others, it will take a long time when it
re-imports, recalculates, etc. - this good/bad performance occurs in
the same DX session and between sessions. I am usually not running
any other tasks when running DX.
In response to Dave's suggestions:
I tried in Edit > Output Cachability > Optimize > Last Results
(changed from All Results) for all modules and did not see a
difference in performance. I also tried increasing the virtual memory
from 1024 MB to 2048 MB - no difference.
How do I turn the Image Window's caching off?

The times I've seen this, its been due to the size of the data set.
If the data set is so large that certain objects can't be cached,
then it has to start from the beginning. You can also try playing
with the Cache settings for specific modules (such as the module
right before the Image). You may also try turning off your Image
Window's caching.

Hi,
I have a network which opens and displays four data files. Each
time I make a change in the image window - rotation, translation,
Reset View, etc, the program seems to start from the beginning with
importing all the data files again and so on. Is this supposed to
happen this way - that the files have to re-imported, calculations
rerun, etc. - when I only wanted to change my view point?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Gerry
