With OpenMotif installed, the space DOES NOT shrink as you explain it
does with Lesstif. Instead, it just becomes a scrolled area with all
the possible Inputs made available. I would file this as a bug with
Lesstif or install OpenMotif.

After clicking on 'Expand' in a configuration dialog of a
module, the 'Inputs' section of the module is expanded to show
all possible inputs. But instead of using more space for more
input possibilities, the space is shrink and a scrollbar
appears. It's not very handy to scroll up and down using this
small scrollbar.

My experience is that I need to restart DX to get all the
choices shown in a decent way. My platform is Linux for ix86.
Closing and opening the window does not solve the problem.
I compiled the source myself and had the same problem, so do not
bother trying to recompile to solve the problem.
