A couple thoughts. Try: > identify in.tiff > identify out.tiff
identify is a util built and installed by ImageMagick. I'm wondering if this might be a colormapped image or an image with 16 bits per sample. Also, does in.tiff display correctly with ImageMagick? (display in.tiff) And, in DX, try: ReadImage(name="in.tiff", format="tiff") -> Display and also: ReadImage(name="in.tiff", format="Image Magick supported format") -> Display Additionally, if this is a colormapped image, try fiddling with the delayed and colortype parameters to ReadImage.
