It turns out this doesn't do it. When I try starting Data Explorer I get
the following error message:

% dx -memory 144

/usr/local/dx/bin_linux/startupui: error while loading shared
libraries: libXm.so.2: cannot load shared object file: No such file or
directory

I even tried making the symbolic link libXm.so.2 -> libXm.so.3.0.1,
uninstalled opendx, then reinstalled opendx.

What I resorted to doing was using an older version of OpenMotif that
would load libXm.so.2.1. I couldn't find an rpm for openmotif-2.1.30 for
RadHat 7.1 on the rpm search sites but on the advise of our sys. admin. I
tried the rpm for PowerTools 7.1 and that seemed to install just fine.

I can get OpenDX to run now without any obvious problems.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
