Chris,

I just tested this and had no problems with Exceed 7.1. Open your log file for Exceed and make sure that it is loading your xrdb file correctly. I put the line

DX*vpeCanvas.allowOverlap: True

in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Hummingbird\Connectivity\7.10\Xrdb.txt. Told it to reload the xrdb and viola overlapping modules with no problems.

David

Can anyone tell me the exact Xdefault string and where I need to put it (what file in what directory), for Windows XP to shut off DX module rabbiticity (the old timers know what I mean: it's possible to set things so modules don't "bang" each other around when they get too close).

On the SGI, I had .Xdefaults with

DX*vpeCanvas.allowOverlap: True

I tried this in xrdb.txt in the location designated by Exceed and reloaded the XRDB and relaunched openDX but it didn't work.

I also tried

openDX*vpeCanvas.allowOverlap: True

but that also did not work.

If .Xdefaults is required (rather than xrdb.txt), where do you put it in Windows-land (or Exceed-ville) so that openDX sees it at startup?
