I don't remember if I did a proper uninstall; quite some time ago (well
over a year) I started using a private version of dx which greg gave me, as
I (we!) couldn't get suhaib's version to work on my machine.
I looked in WINNT but didn't see a Installer directory (even after
unhiding). I did find a whole mess of files with names like
$NTuninstallQ132335$, and I moved those to the recycle bin, but no help
there.
The messages I get on startup after it runs the installer for awhile are,
first,
"User SYSTEM has previously initiated an installation for product
IBM Visualization Data Explorer. That user will need to run that
installation again before using that product. Your current installation
will now continue"
After clicking OK to that one, I then get the message
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable"
It is apparently looking for C:\opendx-4.1.1\IBM Visualization Data
Explorer.msi which I do not have.
I don't understand this comment: If you know exactly
which installer it was you installed, I can make the installer
available to you to uninstall it.
It even (strangely) tries to start up an installer session the first time
after reboot that I do a search for files on the machine....

Please respond to
opendx-users
This is probably more a problem with MSI than with what OpenDX did.
Did you do a proper uninstall of OpenDX? Which installer are you
referring (VIS, Inc.s?) We're only at 4.2.0 as far as I know. You may
look in your \WINNT\Installer directory (its hidden and you'll need
to change your options to view it) and look for something there. MSI
stores installer data there and you may look for a date that seems
approximate and remove that msi and folder from that directory and
see if you can eliminate the problem that way. If you know exactly
which installer it was you installed, I can make the installer
available to you to uninstall it.
