well, I think I've solved (at least most of) my problem with the windows
installer. It's one of those situations where when multiple things are
changed, it's hard to recognize the source of the problem. Greg (my friend
:-)) was helping me get runtime loadable modules working on my laptop and
well, lets just say some directories (like C:\opendx) were renamed. THAT
was the source of the difficulties. So with some judicious backtracking and
renaming I was able to appropriately uninstall dx, and with more help from
greg, get my newer version working, and install a new version of Exceed
(which first showed up the problem of the installer going haywire)
