Hi,

I am running Viz Solutions version of OpenDX on Windows XP with Xwin32 v5.40.

I am pleased to report that hardware rendering does work:
1) With GLX buffering disabled this is a little shaky, the image menus are not visible and it crashes when viewing the FatLines.net.

2) With GLX buffering enabled things are better, the menus are visible and it doesn't crash.
BUT

The rotation axis/globe is no longer visible at all. Note: This isn't the case in RedHat 7.3 where the axis is visible but doesn't update when the model is being rotated. Can anyone help resolve this final problem?

This is a problem with the X server and will have to be resolved by Starnet.

Also I have just noticed that there is a great difference in the way that volumetric data is rendered in software and hardware modes. For example using volumerendering.net software rendering creates a translucent cloud and in hardware a solid brick with coloured surfaces. Is there anything that can be done to make hardware rendered images have the translucent appearance?

Hardware rendering doesn't understand how to volume render. You can add transparency with the Color module and that may give something closer to what you want.

Regards,

Matthew

Ps is there a central repository for ALL OpenDx Macros/resources?

At OpenDX.org, I try and archive macros, etc that people want to contribute. Cornell used to host a repository but it hasn't been kept up to date.
