Hi,
I've been looking at the differences between software and hardware rendering under Linux and Windows. My intention is to be able to use hardware rendering in Windows XP but there seems to be some differences in functionality. The table below shows a summary of the features available when running UsingProbes.Net. Plane movement refers to the MapToPlane object following in real-time the vector generated by the probe.
< Redhat 7.3 > <Windows XP >
Object/renderMode: Soft, Hard, Soft, Hard
Rotation Axis: Visible, Not Visible when dragging, Visible, Axis not visible
Probe Box: Visible, Visible, Visible, Box not visible
Plane Movement: Visible, No update when moving probe, Visible, Probe not visible
Probe co-ords: Dialog, Image annotated, Dialog, Co-ords. not Visible
For the windows test I am using StarNets x-win32 which seems to work well in every other regard.
Is anyone concerned with improving the functionality of DX in Hardware mode (i.e. Image renderMode set to 1)? Starnet are currently looking into the windows version, can anyone help fix the Linux version?
Regards,
Matthew
