OpenDX is a 32 bit application, thus it is limited to 2GB memory partitions. There was some work done to start converting some of this to use 64 bit, but on the SGI platform. It would require you to look at the "large arena support" flag and see if you could use all the appropriate libraries, etc. to get 64 bit support (more than 2GB).

David

I have 2.5Gb of memory on computer (red-hat8), and when
I try to run dx with -memory, it uses no more than 2046Mb,
even if I say him to use more: dx -memory 2300, etc.
How can I you all of 2.5Gb?
Is the max-memory is a compile time value, so I have
to recompile dx-executable to use more memory?

Thank you in advance
