If you like the results of ShowBoundary but want lines use ShowConnections
after ShowBoundary. If the grid resolution is too fine and you want fewer
lines, use Reduce.
BTW, you can use Refine to interpolate to more points from ShowBox.

That works, thanks. Though of course the representation is different from
what I hoped to achieve with the warped box.
I still wonder how one could turn a box into a set of real twistable
lines.
