It is problems with resolving. What you can do is play with the
NetInfo Manager and assign your machine number/name. You may need to
set localhost up as discussed in the OS X technote on our website.

Hi David-
Thanks for the help. Here is what happens when I manually connect to
the server:
in the terminal, dx reports:
server: accepted connection from client
Error during Initialization
ExHostToFQDN
Then, in the dx message window, the following is reported:
0: ERROR: gethostbyaddr returned error
and an error dialog pops up telling me that the connection to the
server has been broken.
I really think this has to do with being behind the apple base
station firewall. It seems to mess with the resolver on many levels.
That said, since it isn't really a dx problem per se, I might need
to look elsewhere. But, if you have any advice to offer, that would
be great.
