I immediately went to the docs looking at the environment variables
figuring there was a way to do this--but I don't see one. If you are
in desparate need of this and feel like implementing it, I believe it
would be a good environment variable/command line option. Maybe
something like DXHWBYDEFAULT -hwByDefault.

Hi!
Is there a way to make the Image tool use hardware rendering by
default? My system (Linux 2.4.18 + nVidia OpenGL driver) supports
hardware rendering, but it is not automatically selected whenever
the Image window is opened. There doesn't seem to be an option to do
this, so I suspect it requires a bit of source code hacking. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.
