This thread is a little old, but I just want to confirm that the PsVectorPrint module that is available at the above link indeed works to make vector postscript files. It's not perfect, since in one figure a surface that looked opaque in the Image preview window (and for which I set the opacity to 1.0) was a little transparent in the postscript output, and the resulting files are a little larger than I'd expect, but they definitely look good. In the above link the author comments that he found that proper ps output was being produced only sporadically. I also noticed sporadic output with software rendering, but for hardware rendering the module seems to consistently work. I guess because the gl2ps code used in this module is GPL that even if the module were polished it couldn't be incorporated into OpenDX.
