For the sake of the purists:
you can provide a field of values to Glyph and also provide an ellipsoid object as the 'type' (i.e., pre-Construct/Glyph/Scale to make an ellipsoid, then input it to Glyph as the 'type' of user-provided object).
However, as previously stated, what comes out of Glyph is a monolithic field of positions and connections: no separately identifiable Glyphs within this blob--they LOOK like separate objects when rendered, but you can't "Select" a particular one out with any ease.
Thus, all user-provided objects will align the same way and have the same relative scale (subject to 'ratio'). So this feature does not give you the ability to scale and transform glyphs via eigenvalue/eigenvector: you have to do that as I described previously.
