Tom,
I did the same thing with LDA data in an artificial heart, but I had taken
pains to make sure the two orthogonal traverse grids coincided to < 0.1 mm.
I think you must first interpolate each data set onto a predetermined grid,
then combine the two grids using {Compute} to create 3D vectors (possibly
averaging the two values of the repeated velocity component, V). Then, you
can apply rocket glyphs to the gridded data to visualize the vector field.

the other containing positions and V and W velocities, not necessarily at
the same positions. (It's the output of separate runs of a 2D laser
doppler anemometer around a cityscape in a wind tunnel)
I'd like to combine these, by either discarding or averaging the "spare" V
component, into a single dataset of 3D velocities, that I can then render
as vectors, or seed with streak or streamlines...
