I imagine this is a FAQ, but I've looked through my dx source tree and on the opendx website, and in man 1 dx and I can't find it... I have dx working fine on one machine. I think I've cloned the install on another machine but apparently not ( it's dx-4.3.2 on linux-2.4.21, libc-2.3.2 installed in /usr/dx ) After firing up dx, on attempting to load a program, from the command line I get the message "timeout waiting for response from DX" and then a dialogue box saying "unable to connect to dxexec" with netstat -an I don't see any entry in /tmp/.DX_unix like I do on the machine where DX works fine. I don't have any DX environment variables set on either machine. I ran #sh -x /usr/bin/dx and saw that $DXEXEC (or whatever) was set correctly (to /usr/dx/bin_linux/dxexec) Sorry for having to ask about this. Thanks for the help Joe
