Hi all, We all recognise the importance of education in this area but it has proven difficult to find the right balance that allows an Educational program to get off the ground, in a way that supports the small number of existing providers, without over-burdening either the Foundation or those providers. Evelyn and Pablo did some important groundwork a couple of years ago but we felt that a simpler bootstrap process is required at this stage.
A small group of current education providers led by Heather Leslie, Hildi McNicoll, Pablo Pazos and with Board representation from Koray Atalag are putting the final touches on a proposal which should allow the Foundation to start endorsing Education providers, who in turn can certify their courses. The Mgt Board is looking at this proposal and although it might need some small tweaks, we think this will be the best approach. We expect to be able to share this more widely in the next few weeks once the new Mgt Board has convened. Please note that this first tranche of work is all about the endorsement of Providers, and wholly focussed on 'vocational training', and not on higher education. We are keen to start to pull together shared educational material but we need to get these first steps in place.
