Hi Richard and Mathieu,

Update on the pkgconfig issue.

I dropped the five workaround patches (DUMMYPROVIDES, cross-build
Provides fix, pkgconf RPROVIDES, sstate-compat suppress,
__requires_exclude) and replaced them with one: disable RPM 6's
pkgconfig fileattr generator by removing pkgconfig.attr and
pkgconfigdeps.sh from rpm's install lists via a source patch. The
__pkgconfig_* macro overrides aren't reliably honoured, so removing the
generator is the only thing that works.

Status:
Local (oe-selftest -r reproducible): passes every time. No pkgconfig() /
/usr/bin/pkg-config deps in the -dev packages; populate_sdk works
without the dummy patch.

Autobuilder: still fails ~1 in 3 runs, always the same packages
(hicolor-icon-theme-dev, iso-codes-dev, wayland-protocols-dev). The
from-scratch build (reproducibleB) is clean; the sstate build
(reproducibleA) still has the pkgconfig deps.

https://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/valkyrie/#/builders/37/builds/4837

The sstate build looks like it's pulling a pre-fix rpm/rpm-native from
the shared sstate. Will this clear once the autobuilder has rebuilt
everything for this branch with the new rpm, or is something in my
change letting the stale package get reused? If it's the latter, any
pointers on where to look would help.

Updated series on skokkonda/rpm02.
