It was tested, there were some issues, it was thought they were relatively easily resolved, that turned out not to be the case. I get put under immense pressure to merge patches 'yesterday'. Please keep this kind of issue in mind next time you ask me to hurry up and merge something ;-). We've been able to catch a lot of things but its the ones that slip through that people notice :/.
