OK, thanks for clarifying. So my takeaway is that if I see a recipe that 
conflates the 'opengl' DISTRO_FEATURE with desktop OpenGL, then it is a bug, 
right?

I would think so, it has to look for x11 being in distro features perhaps to call it desktop GL
