... distro building is complicated and because there are complex
coherences between the packages. This is not something that OE invented
but what is every distribution maker/packager faces.

Eg. if you are trying to build a kernel 2.4 system with a linuxthreads
glibc 2.7 and Xorg 7.x you are likely to have issues since no one else
on this planet tried that. The latter is different for existing OE-based
distributions ... :)
