Even if he doesnt care i agree with most of the comments of xmo. It makes more sense to follow backbone convention (event, function, object).
No personal preferences about "on" vs "bind", but "on" seems to become the preferred standard both for jquery and backbone so why shouldn't we do the same. More generally, as this is almost a rip of the things of backbone we would like to use + parenting and widget.
