well I think an explanation from openfiler projectmembers would be appropriate.

Because they got knocked off the net???

How trustworthy is the whole project if the website is completely gone for a week while the documentation is on the website, not on the recent iso's ?

Hmmm... suggests that mirroring is appropriate: Rafiu et al, I can set up some space for that on our servers, so if you want to round robin dns this could help.

As for the trustworthiness of the project based upon the presence or absence of the website ... hmmm ... methinks there are other agendas here ...

The project is, from the code I have seen, and the minuscule (to date) we have contributed, quite trustworthy. Scalable (my company) is shipping our JackRabbit servers with OpenFiler by default unless another distro is requested. We wouldn't do this if we felt that there were questions about the trustworthiness of this work.

I'm not sure anymore if I will use openfiler, or just adapt a Linux distro myself to my SAN/NAS needs.

Again, if you are having issues with the distribution due to the relative absence or presence of a website, there may be other considerations here you haven't told us of.

Best of luck with the other distribution.
