Actually,
I use SSH to mount it in a folder under /mnt.

Problem is the only user that can connect to ftp, "openfiler" doesnt have write 
access?

You'll need to manually configure /etc/proftpd.conf since these volumes
are in no way associated with nor managed by Openfiler.  (my attorney
told me to say that ;))
