Have you tried to:
1) Create VG
2) Create LV (xfs, ext3 etc volume)
3) Create subfolder of LV
4) Click on subfolder name and select "Make Share" option in pop-up
5) Created network ACLs
6) Assigned network ACLs for desired share export protocol
My problem was with #4; the "Make Share" button sounded like it was
for something else, so I never tried that.

Some additional questions that came up regarding Auth and Windows
interoperability. This probably spawns from not messing with Samba
enough, but here goes. How does OF deal with CIFS shares and
permissions. Eg, if a user wants to put a windows ACL on their dir or
files, can they?
Yes. But the config will get overwritten anytime the admin makes changes
to the ACLs via the GUI. This has to be done for consistency.
For that matter, can users even set any perms via
Windows?
Yes. Supported Windows ACLs are mapped to Posix ACLs.
So this means that a user could not, for example, explicitly grant 17
windows users access to their share (some read, some read-write)
without using a group?
You could try it. It might work. The point is that all that will get
overwritten the next time any changes to the access control settings are
made via the GUI.
Then again, why would one want to delegate access control administration
to the user?
R.
