I am assuming you are running Windows, since people running Mac OS X and Linux don't seem to have trouble with X11.
Make sure that you've carefully *installed* Xming and putty, *started* Xming, and *verified* that you can ssh in with X11 forwarding *and* that xterm works correctly, as per our instructions: http://www.openflow.org/wk/index.php/OpenFlow_Tutorial#Windows_XP If xterm doesn't work, Wireshark *will not work*, since it is also an X11 application. As an alternative, you could also just install gnome in the VM and run an X11 session in the VM window. (The method of doing so depends on which VM image you are using, but it should not be difficult.) -Bob On Aug 17, 2011, at 10:20 AM, Rai, Siddhant P. wrote: > Hi, > > I am following the OpenFlow tutorial > (http://www.openflow.org/wk/index.php/OpenFlow_Tutorial ) from the site.
