But I believe that the contest is also asking for something like the OpenFlow Connection manager on Indigo Agent. (plus the unmarshaling/marshaling libraries, which are generated by LOXI on Indigo). Yes, that's correct. Note that the competition is for the equivalent of socket manager and the connection manager, but on the controller side (though being able to target it for the switch is a plus.) Whether it is a direct translation of OF messages or provides a slightly more abstract representation is up to the entry. The key aspects are the "library" nature of the product and the target languages. Adding internal instrumentation and external tools to increase usability and debug-ability are also plusses. -Dan On 20 May 2013 14:18, Ben Pfaff <b...@nicira.com> wrote: On Sat, May 18, 2013 at 5:30 PM, ibrahim menem <ibrahim...@hotmail.com> wrote: > Anybody can explain what is exactly a "driver" and how it should integrate > into the controller and the switch at the same time, I read the announcement > in detail but still not getting it! My interpretation is that a driver is an OpenFlow protocol marshaling and unmarshaling library. _______________________________________________ openflow-discuss mailing list openflow-discuss@lists.stanford.edu https://mailman.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/openflow-discuss -- Eder Leão Fernandes Bacharelado em Ciências de Computação Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação Universidade de São Paulo _______________________________________________ openflow-discuss mailing list openflow-discuss@lists.stanford.edu https://mailman.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/openflow-discuss _______________________________________________ openflow-discuss mailing list openflow-discuss@lists.stanford.edu https://mailman.stanford.edu/mailman/listinfo/openflow-discuss
