Are you using OVS?

If so, I'm not sure if OVS supports fast-failover group types.

Subject: Re: [openflowplugin-dev] Fast failover support

Well... in the meanwhile I was able to find it out (programming the group),
however it seems it's not working well..

If anyone has any experience on this and doesn't mind to help...

Thanks

I was trying to configure it in advance in the switch (using ODL rest commands)
in order to eliminate the necessity of switch - controller - application
communication and achieve a faster reaction. I think this is exactly why these
group actions exist.

Nevertheless, if you could share an example it may be useful has an
alternative. In relation to your example, how would you now that a connection
went down?

Thanks

Rui,

In my understanding, openflowplugin does not provide such a functionality.
Openflowplugin provides inventory information and the applications using the
same can judge such faults and provide alternative floe entry to reroute the
packets.

Please let me know if you need a specific example.

I've notice that there's a
/config/opendaylight-action-types:action-types/action/{order}/

but can't seem to find anything related to fail-over. Probably I'm not looking
into it the right way.

Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to program group type operations, in
particular the fast fail-over, over REST commands?
If so, can you share an example? ( eg. if port 4 goes down it will forward to
port 5 )
Or a link to...

Thanks
