I have not seen anything mentioned on the release mailing list nor at
the Kernel Projects' call, so I cannot possibly comment.

The snippet below is not enough to identify the root cause. All I can
say is that the message is misleading and it is actually OFP which
throwing NPE.

As noted above, the issue is identified and the fix is delivered to
odlparent. How to propagate that out is up to Stephen.

All I can say is that we'll need a yangtools bump to resolve NETCONF-591.
