I don't think permissions should be a problem since everything is owned by root
and I'm executing the binary as root.

I'm trying to get GnuGK running on a server at a school district. I won't be
able to compile it on that but I can setup a VM and compile it there. Any tips
on how to compile a static executable? They won't need any of the database
functionality.

Thanks!

Andrew
