It is my understanding that Chai is a HP 'clean room' implementation of
a JVM. Chai is mainly targetted to embedded devices and as such
competes with a lot of embedded JVM's from non-SUN sources as well as
SUN's own J2ME.
HP added ActiveX control support to the JVM and that is probably how the
.NET integration is accomplished. So, you are right, using the .NET (or
ActiveX) features of Chai will result in an application that will not
port off a Chai.
