Sorry if I did hurt national feelings. This posting was merely to
demonstrate yet another reason not to trust anything closed source,
especially not in most sensitive areas such as health IT.

It is not the arrogance of Microsoft, but the doings of the NSA. I do not
think that M$ would have a choice, but then they probably benefit form this
anyways, and in more than one way.

The newsmagazine where the original article was posted (Der Spiegel) is a
quite serious one, not Boulevard press, with typically well researched
articles only. I would be most interested in any further information,
epsecially from good sources.

However, after the Echelon scandal two years ago when the US were caught
misusing NATO intelligence for industrial espionage on their fellow NATO
members, the article mentioned above is not that incredible.

However, the one thing in your posting I did not understand is that
"envious" part. Envious about what?
