Hi

Being one of the NHS people that has recently signed up, I don't intend to
go away but must confess to be struggling up a learning curve and unable to
contribute much at the moment! I would far prefer to participate in an
active list than one with only one message a month but nevertheless I would
be interested in your e-group.

I am leading one UK project to develop a commnunity EHR (i.e. neither in GP
or hospital) based on Open-EHR (the CHIME version) and am keen to embrace
the open source movement. Hence my interest in this list...

I gather I will be seeing you tomorrow Adrian, at our EHR security workshop.

I am aware that some NHS people have briefly joined th elist and gone away.

I do not in any way wnat to alter this list - the founders and senior
members such as the Minoru contingent and "ahem" one
or tow others of us are quite capable of sitting through a forming,
storming, norming phase before the performing gets
obvious, but people with a lesser technical background and with less strong
interest may simply find the volume of this list
too high.

Some months ago I started a _very very low volume_ list called OpenMedUK
whcih has 6 members at present.
It is intended to carry short and infrequent messages relating to Open
SOurce medical software and development in the UK
or relevant specially to the UK, and is well controlled.

I am happy to consider requests to join it.
I suggest that anyone form the NHS does join it, and the list volume _will_
be controlled to less than one message per day.
At present it is about one per month.
I suspect that anything major on it is going to be forwarded to here, if it
didn't start here anyway.

Email to me to join, using [EMAIL PROTECTED] or replying to this, saying
who you are and what you are interested in.

Tim, shall I sign you up? Mike B and Jon are on it and a couple of others
you know, and one you don't AFAIK.
