Lack of marketing funds and capital. It is hard to raise money to "sell" a free
product. :-) Without relying on money to facilitate resource allocation, the open
source model has features of a "barter" system. This may be less efficient in some
ways and does have other broader implications (e.g. taxation).
This means less money for the advertising sector in addition to the software industry.
FUD is now on the minds of executives everywhere. They may even try to get governments
to worry.
