Several million dollars? Where did this come from? My motivation isn't just dollars,
it is to get

my profession out of the horse and buggy stage. It is so I won't kill patients with a
faulty pen

stroke. It is so my patients won't have to pay exorbitant prices because of
inefficiency.

It is so medical students don't have to spend hours staring at their shoes while they
wait for

the attending to throw them a teaching bone. It would be grossly unethical for me to
not do what

I'm doing or say what I'm saying given my lengthy experience with IT and medicine. I
actually

wanted to do an EMR, but I looked around and saw plenty of that activity going on
already and

from my previous experience with my own software company I knew that the marketing was
as

important as the code. Besides, it puts me in a unique position in that I don't have a
vested

interest in a particular project.

I look only for LMN to pay its way and make enough in order to achieve its objectives:
put the message

out in front of the profession/industry and be a facilitator of change. If it ever
makes anything,

a good portion will go back into it and its participants in proportion to contribution
(including you

and Andrew) in a formula to be determined which will be as fair as I know how to do.

I wouldn't refuse millions or hundreds, but let's get real: right now that seems as
close as a trip to

Jupiter for me and Cindy. Most businesses fail at a rate of 50%. Nothing is certain.
Likewise my emphasis

on not duplicating. If you hope to challenge an industry as large as health-care then
re-doing things

that have already been done isn't good, and concentrating your efforts is essential.
Millions?

I'm flattered by your confidence. LMN is a .com not for my benefit or insiders
benefit. It is a

.com because I thought that the profession would pay more attention if it were so and
I could

demonstrate profitability. They don't listen much to philosophies. It is also
registered as .org

if that makes a difference to anyone.
