  Excellent point!

Speaking of distributed EHR systems, I have just been
to see the Heart Institute here in Sao Paulo, and they
have implementations of PIDS, RAD, COAS and
CIAS, all CorbaMed interface definitions. Their system
is probably the best I have seen to date, in terms of
an operational system (anywhere). The people here are
excellent, and taking an intelligent approach (just having
an in-house development facility helps enormously).

They don't yet have anything like archetypes, but due to
their modular implementation, if they wanted to have such
a system, they could slot in an archetype driven
implementation for all of the above interfaces.

So, if one of the most modern hospitals in the world is
implementing CorbaMed as we speak, I don't think anyone
can say it's dead.
