Subject: NCC study into Open Source software applications for business
Dear Colleague,
For those of you who weren't aware, NCC is carrying a short study of the need for an organised approach to Open Source software applications for business. This project is co-funded with DTI and its objective is to provide both NCC and DTI with an educated industry view on the value and viability of:
1) the Open Source phenomenon and development methodology to
software producers and users in the UK;
and, as a
possible enabler,
2) an NCC Open Source Applications
Development Extranet and Open Source Software Library.
Since launching the study we've had quite a bit of activity and we're organising a (free!) seminar (at NCC, Manchester on 28 September) . I'm attaching a single page introduction which I hope will be of interest to you. Please disseminate this message as widely as appropriate.
