If I'm not completely wrong fink is some kind of ported Debian packaging
tool dpkg to BSD, right? There are efforts to develop a Debian/BSD.
(Please note: Debian is not only Linux, there is Debian GNU/Hurd and will
be possibly other "Kernels" like BSD and there is a Debian/W32 project.)
If this will advance you will perhaps could have a Debian-Med (see annoncement
to this list or just http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-med/) platform on
your Mac OSX. Alternatively you could install Debian GNU/Linux on your
Mac just now and observe the evolving Debian-Med.
Kind regards
Andreas.
