Even then - it is not likely that we will get the neccessary broadband infrastructure in Oz in the foreseeable future. Rural and remote practices will depend on "sneakernet" data exchange for years to come, sadly. I'd also expect that in the absence of any privacy law worth it's salt we will have considerable numbersof patients refusing to have their records stored in a centralized fashion - they too will depend on portable data storage media.
