As far as an EHR is concerned most physicians aren't concerned about
switching, just getting one that does what they need and one that makes
sense economically.

But when planning your office information technology there are many
things to consider and you should certainly develop a plan that takes
you through at least a five year period.

This person apparently has more experience in this area than many
physicians might. But, if a small office of 1 - 12 physicians also add
in the costs of hiring a local Linux geek or an experienced *nix
consultant, a five year plan will still likely save a bundle and
continue to save into the future because the office will be off of the
"FU&ILP freight train" (forced upgrade & increasing license payment).
