Subject: RE: [Openhpi-devel] Problem in getting OpenHPI client utilities to
connect to OpenHPI on an IPMI 2.0 platform
Hi Renier,
Thanks for the quick reply. The following is the output on the server
window ( without logging switched on)
[EMAIL PROTECTED] sbin]# ./openhpid -nv -c /etc/openhpi/openhpi.conf
ipmi.cpp:293 (IpmiOpen)
ipmi.cpp:2265 (ipmidirect discover_resources)
and the following is the output from the client window...
[EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# ./hpi_shell
CreateConnx: Could not open client socket
Possibly, the OpenHPI daemon has not been started.
saHpiSessionOpen: Could not create client connection
saHpiSessionOpen error NO_RESPONSE
I did the same run this time with loggging switched on for the server and have
attached the output log file.
The following is the output from the client ( & associated timestamps ) when
running the client hpi_shell ) ...
[EMAIL PROTECTED] bin]# date;./hpi_shell;date
Mon Apr 9 17:46:42 EDT 2007
CreateConnx: Could not open client socket
Possibly, the OpenHPI daemon has not been started.
saHpiSessionOpen: Could not create client connection
saHpiSessionOpen error NO_RESPONSE
Mon Apr 9 17:46:42 EDT 2007
Thanks,
Hugh

Run in one shell window:
OPENHPI_DEBUG=YES /usr/local/sbin/openhpid -c /etc/openhpi/openhpi.conf -f
openhpid.pid -n -v
In another shell, run one of the clients.
Give us the output of both windows if the client cannot connect to the daemon.
