My first reaction is that end of the year is a pretty long time between releases. 2.10.0 came out 9/20/2007, and I would have expected we would shoot for a major release every six months or so. Also, conversations earlier this year indicated that we'd be trying for a 2.12 release this summer. But the real discussion should probably to center on what is planned for the 2.12 release, and what tasks need to happen before then. Is there a list of goals for 2.12? Are there other factors that I'm missing? What can some of the rest of us be doing to help out with the progress? I don't recall any discussions on the mailing list about this. Perhaps this is a good start?
