Hi Jeff, Yes, actually we have been running our HPI Tester against the OpenHPI implementation, with both ipmidirect and ipmi plugins. We have noticed a good number of functional issues in the OpenHPI implementation while doing the testing. I think we should work with SA Forum to promote HPI certification with an objective of ensuring interoperability between different vendor products. If SA Forum agrees to promote the certification program, Polaris will be happy to take the initiative to define the program. As you understand, the question of certifying an implementation arises only after the certification program is defined . Once it is defined, Polaris can certainly play a significant role in the certification program by providing with the HPI tester solution. As Mike mentioned, we are attending the Interop event in Germany. We will carry our latest HPI Tester so that we can run our tester against the HPI implementations available there.
Please feel free to shoot any queries that you may have.
Regards,
Pradip

We are hosting a PICMG ATCA/uTCA/AMC interoperability workshop in two weeks.
HPI testing is on the agenda. Polaris will attend and will have all of their
tools available.
There will be many implementations of HPI at the interoperability workshop. If
there is a product based on OpenHPI I will see if I can publish the conformance
test results.

[Openhpi-devel] Polaris Networks HPI Tester
I have noticed that Polaris Networks has released an HPI Tester. Any plans on
certifying OpenHPI with this kind of testing? I believe that Polaris also
supplies the test tools for CPTA certification.
The HPI Tester tests the compatibility of a Hardware Platform Interface (HPI)
implementation in conformance with the requirements specified in the Service
Availability(SA) Forum HPI specification.
The main features of the HPI tester are as follows à
Includes tests for conformance to the HPI-B.02.01 specification.
Features around 550 API test cases that cover the 79 HPI-B.01.01 API
functions, and 50 ATCA-mapping test cases.
Includes tests scripted in TCL, a highly flexible scripting language.
Displays test results in a tabular format and using Message Sequence Charts.
Decodes input and output parameters and return values of all API function
calls.
Generates report in HTML format.
