Anton -

Thanks for your question - and it is a good one. I appreciate that you brought
it up.

My thoughts along these lines:

2.15.0 is a development release - and as such it will have some enhancements.

For instance, I'm currently developing an enhancement for the oa_soap plugin to
provide power management controls to our c-Class bladed chassis. Aside from
this, and various bug fixes to the oa_soap and ribcl plugins, these are the
only changes expected to come from HP for the 2.15.0 release.

It would be good to take a poll from the OpenHPI devel list to see what other
enhancements are planned in the near term - and the approximate timetable for
when those enhancements will be complete (i.e., implemented, unit tested, and
checked into the trunk).

>From HP's perspective, it makes sense to target a 2.15.0 release for mid-June
>(and this could possibly slip to early July). These dates are somewhat
>flexible.

It will take me at least another month (and possibly a little more since I'm
only working half time on OpenHPI) to complete the power management enhancement
to the oa_soap plugin - and after that, I will be more in the mode of
organizing the 2.15.0 release.

Let me know your thoughts on the release - and please report in with your
planned enhancements/status for the 2.15.0 release.

Here's are the enhancements/changes I know about:
  -- build restructure (Anton)
-- HP oa_soap power management controls - target code complete/unit test in
mid-to-late-April (Michael)
-- deprecation of the OpenIPMI plugin? (code would not be removed, but would
be marked as deprecated - assuming no objections from OpenHPI community)
  -- others?

Regards,
--michael
