Hi Naveen,
Current OpenHPI HP C-Class plugin does not support getOaSyslog.
Could you please file a feature request for this on HP C-Class plugin.

Subject: Re: [Openhpi-devel] Reg. OpenHPI support on HP C class blades

Hi,

Thanks for replying so fast.

The output that I got from hpi_shell> showevtlog is different from the
logs shown in OA syslog output(1-1 mapping is not there).

I have attached the output of showevtlog and OA syslog history output,
Can you tell me whether it is possible to
retrieve the OA syslog history contents using OpenHpi.

Also is it like OpenHpi will retrieve only the outstanding events and
not the events which are already cleared?

Requirement is:
Events shown in OA should match with the output of OpenHpi
commands which confirms OpenHpi can be used to retrieve events and
alarms from OA.
This testing is done so that I can go ahead and implement a tool
using OpenHPI provided API interfaces to retrieve the hardware inventory
and
        Alarm, event information.

Regards
Naveen S

Hi,

I am using OpenHPI(hpiinv) to retrieve the HP hardware inventory
information from Onboard Administrator and it is working fine but when I
try to retrieve the syslog events from OA using

hpiel, nothing is happening.

root@blr02> hpiel

hpiel (rev 6571) - This program came with OpenHPI 2.14.1

SAF HPI Version B.03.01

Domain Info: UpdateCount = 33, UpdateTime = 1297c91884f56260

I am getting the above output when I try hpiel command to retrieve the
old syslog events.

Also I am able to get the live events from HP Onboard Administrator
using hpievents -t SAHPI_TIMEOUT_BLOCK or BLOCK.

Event Type: HOTSWAP

                From Resource:
{SYSTEM_CHASSIS,1}{COOLING_UNIT,1}{COOLING_DEVICE,2}{FAN,1}

               Event Resource ID: 15

              Event Timestamp: 2012-06-15 17:29:21

             Event Severity: OK

             HotswapEvent:

             HotSwapState: NOT_PRESENT

             PreviousHotSwapState: ACTIVE

          Event Type: HOTSWAP

          >From Resource:
{SYSTEM_CHASSIS,1}{COOLING_UNIT,1}{COOLING_DEVICE,2}{FAN,1}

          Event Resource ID: 15

          Event Timestamp: 2012-06-15 17:29:28

          Event Severity: OK

          HotswapEvent:

          HotSwapState: ACTIVE

          PreviousHotSwapState: NOT_PRESENT

Can anyone help on this to proceed further to retrieve the system events
from OA using openhpi?

Hardware Specifications:

BladeSystem c7000 Enclosure G2

ProLiant BL460c G7

HP VC FlexFabric 10Gb/24-Port Module
